The Department of Biology at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position of Lecturer in biology beginning Fall of 2021.

Vassar College is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to increasing the diversity of the campus community and the curriculum, and promoting an environment of equality, inclusion, and respect for difference. Candidates who can contribute to this goal through their teaching, advising, and other activities are encouraged to identify their strengths and experiences in this area. Individuals from groups whose under-representation in the American professoriate has been severe and longstanding are particularly encouraged to apply.

We seek a broadly trained biologist with a keen interest in and commitment to teaching introductory biology, including laboratory and classroom instruction. The successful candidate will teach primarily at the introductory level, but will also have opportunities to participate in courses at other levels of our curriculum.

The successful candidate will have a dedicated office and access to shared research and teaching facilities that include a greenhouse, vivarium, 15 climate-controlled growth chambers, and a 415-acre Ecological Preserve with a well-equipped field station.

A Ph.D. in the biological sciences is required, as is prior teaching experience at the introductory level.  All applications should be submitted online at https://employment.vassar.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1593715047066
